What is an In Home Consultant?

An in-home sales consultant is a sales professional or service tech who sells a product or service while in the customer’s home.

Carpenters
Plumbers
Painters
Air Conditioning
Flooring, Windows, Ceilings and Walls

Pool & Paving Contractors
and many more…

Sales can be a fun, interesting and profitable career. Some of the highest paid people in the world are sales people. Those who can sell consistently are a hot commodity and in great demand in the business world.Sales is an honorable profession. For the most part, the sales professionals that I have met are just like everyone else – trying to do their best without taking advantage of anyone.

Sales is something everyone is doing. If you think about it, nearly everyone is selling a product or a service. Even working at an office desk is selling something… your time. As you drive down the street, look at all the different businesses trying to sell something… pizza, furniture, hardware, automobiles, and even banking is offering a product or service.

If I want to stop for a cup of coffee between appointments, I can do so. I am not stuck at a desk all day. I make my own schedule.

I’ve never cold called or knocked on doors to drum up business. Some sales pros do so and like it – but it was never for me. Don’t think that you have to do this to be in sales. If you do not like having to do lead generation, seek out positions where the company will generate the leads for you.

In-home sales is interesting. I have been in some of the most beautiful homes in the world and I have met the most interesting people, some of them famous, some with interesting occupations or life stories.
